Presentation: Shane Coen of coen + partners will speak about his firm’s philosophy as it relates to the design, construction, and use of both public and private spaces. Integral to this philosophy are the importance of the public review process, ideas about landscape as a public forum and experimental canvas, and embracing a contemporary and place specific aesthetic.
Shane Coen is the principal and founder of Coen + Partners, a nationally recognized landscape architecture firm in Minneapolis. He has over thirteen years of professional experience as a principal of landscape architecture with an acknowledged commitment to innovative and sustainable design. Shane received his professional degree in landscape architecture from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where he also received a degree in horticulture. He is a visiting critic at both the University of Massachusetts and the University of Minnesota; his design work has been featured in numerous regional and national publications.
