Mr. Ned Cramer Curator, Chicago Architecture Foundation Chicago, Illinois
Ned Cramer is the curator of the Chicago Architecture Foundation, where he is responsible for exhibitions, public programs. and overall creative direction. Current and recent projects include the exhibition series “Road Trip,” focusing on significant projects in the Midwest, as well as the exhibition Invisible City, for which three teams of architects created visionary schemes interpreting major planning efforts in Chicago. For eight years Cramer worked as an editor at Architecture magazine, most recently as executive editor. While at Architecture, he collaborated with writers such as Paul Goldberger and Witold Rybczynski, artists such as Doug Aitkin and Justine Kurland, and architects such as Diller + Scofidio and Venturi Scott Brown. He also orchestrated special thematic issues including “Postpostmodernism” and “The Arizona School.” Previously, Cramer worked at the Menil Collection in Houston and at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. He attended the Rice University School of Architecture and is the recipient of an Arts Administration Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. Cramer was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. |
