A sustainable office? using recycled paper!

In fact the workplace is where the attention to the waste is much lower if compared with the attention that we have at home and in other places.
Paper, printing, cartridges, toner is all used in great quantities in every office, skipping particular attention to energy saving and avoid unnecessary waste. Yet it takes very few gestures few small daily cares to make the office a nice place to spend the day and where respect and protect the environment in all its forms.

Very important is the use of recycled paper that has now reached such a point of technology applied to have very few differences from the paper normally used for printing and document production. In addition, many corporate email for some time have included at the bottom of the so-called “ecological message” to give notice to print only if the mail is really indispensable to the work and we need a paper copy. In addition, the introduction of certified electronic mail, even in public institutions made it possible to considerably reduce the amount of paper needed to individual activities such as office paper for copying.

Many other techniques are then used for energy saving such as restriction of printers, many companies are now to be a floor rather than a per-seat, dining areas a holding company instead of several and many other small details which will collect the their success in the consumer sector.

It can happen in some cases products from the recycling has a higher cost, but this occurrence is quite rare now because some companies have revised the technologies to obtain high-quality products with a price almost equal to that of the product from by new cells. Also use products from recycling or processing from a label is also good for the welfare of workers in the office spend more than forty hours a week and limiting contact with harmful substances and promoting the mental well being.

If in the case of the office with the direct collaboration of workers and steady you can get excellent results on all fronts is more difficult to reconcile with the industrial activity and the sustainability of  the ecology. In fact in the paper is mainly used for packaging, which makes it more difficult to use the limit in the sense that while an email can be printed or not to send or carry an appliance apart from its absolutely cannot on it. Now, however, technological change has allowed the paper to get the production resistant and reusable wrapping paper that have nothing to envy to the new boxes every time.

But there are some features that the paper in general must answer. First, a paper label shall be defined to meet certain particular requirements or to be made with a low intake of water is a limited power consumption, low emissions and water than in air but also to give birth to the paper label is required to be used only as waste paper.
Currently, this in fact turns out to be the most environmentally friendly and more environmentally friendly to produce paper, but it is certain that research in this area is evolving and growing to develop solutions which could help to reduce emissions to a minimum emission but also to limit the use of paper where it is not strictly necessary.

Green Technology- Environmental Protection and Preservation

The True Bio Electric helps eco-minded businesses and consumer’s crossways the nations economize money while saving the environment. In the midst of a serious economical climate, concerns over worldwide warming and depleting natural resources tend to take backseat to anxieties agile occupying fiscal resourcefulness’s. But the enterprises of the True Bio Electric-or TBE for short-prove that Filipinos wanting to be more conservative with their money can in reality benefit from taking steps to economize the environment.

For the TBE, “going green” entails to a greater extent than merely decorous eco-friendly. It implies becoming eco-efficient, too. At the core of the TBE organization is a platform of green initiatives -essentially, specific and cost-efficient undertakings that business enterprises can contract on their course to sustainability. The TBE’s founder, Ronald Shane Flynn, conceives that “mindless green washing” has gone an interpersonal epidemic, so he sought to put up businesses a practical and financially plan for turning environmentally responsible that taken more than just a bunch of planet-saving technologies.

So what causes the TBE’s program of initiatives so different? “Every initiative our member businesses experience has comprising designed to issue the maximum benefit for the surroundings while belittling the level of effort and investment. And each set of recommendations has also been specifically chaste to the goals and postulates of that person business,” “Essentially, calculating the equation for delivering your business the most environmental bang for its buck.”

The TBE has established out to prove that costs environmentally honorable and commercially successful are actually reciprocally positive, rather than complementary, goals. It is reasonably of an oxymoron-he’s a business-savvy entrepreneur and soulful environmentalist all at once. Those characters led him to learned an organization that would enable a broader base of businesses to participate in sustainable exercises by contributing them not only informational resources-a straightforward “roadmap” for carrying through those practices-but also cost-saving incentives

If the TBE system of greening the thriftiness takes off, consumers who have reluctantly curbed spending on eco-friendly commodities in an effort to retain their pocketbooks intact may be enjoyably surprised to learn that green products are getting increasingly affordable as more companies put eco-efficiency into praxis. Businesses that gone certified by the TBE can reach out to this growing base of eco-aware consumers by letting their customers know that they’ve been established for their commitment to sustainability by a nationwide, third-party organization. (To help get the word out, the TBE provides member businesses with a TBE seal to expose in their storefront or on their website, in addition to listing them in their online directory of green-certified businesses.)

Recent commercializing studies show that even in challenging economic times, consumers prefer to buy green products. When it follows to our economy, it appears that green is the color of the future. The TBE is on to something big. Merely they’re making it easy for businesses to achieve this big goal by taking small steps. With this move to combine energy efficiency promotes with a very fundamental in sagely conquering the extra environmental benefits while also amending their fiscal issues.

Builders And Homeowners Switch To Concrete

Walls made of concrete in residential and commercial buildings deliver significant efficiencies in costs, comfort, environmental protection, and human health. If you need more information before making your building decisions, take a look at this in-field comparison on homes of a similar size. It was conducted by Nudura, a leading name in building technology with its LEED-certified, concrete wall system. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) has established an international benchmark for sustainable high performance buildings.

Why has concrete replaced wood?

Energy Efficiency: Wood structures are prone to thermal bridging where the outside cold seeps in to cause drafts and cold spots. Solid core concrete walls keep home temperatures consistent requiring less energy for heat, cool, and climate control. Energy savings with this advancement is reported to be from up to 50 to 70 percent.

The Environment: Trees are vital for the control of greenhouse gases and trees are equally important for our planet’s total oxygen supply. Instead of using wood for construction, concrete saves this important natural resource.

Strength: Concrete walls are shown to be up to nine times stronger, withstanding wind up to 400 km/hr and a debris impact up to 185 km/hr. Wood walls are subject to moisture, dry rot, and deterioration. With a solid concrete core your walls last for a lifetime.

Safety: In addition to long-term durability and wind resistance, concrete walls report 4-hour fire protection. A traditional stick-frame home withstands fire for approximately 45 minutes.

Living Quality: Wood walls are also prone to moisture retention, promoting mould growth with airborne respiratory irritants. A concrete wall system is quick for builders, creative for designers, emits no fumes, retains no water, and unlike wood, the solid concrete core is soundproof, keeping unwanted noise outside.

Floor and ceiling construction is now advanced too. More information is online at www.nudura.com.

New Texas Home Technologies for Energy Efficiency

Energy efficiency is not just a buzzword for cities in the State of Texasfor most have taken concrete steps in reducing Texas electricity consumption in homes through various energy efficiency programs. A great example is Austin’s Zero Energy Capable program which aims to reduce energy consumption in new homes by up to 65% by the year 2015. Homes that are zero energy capable produce the same amount of electricity as they consume.

While such goals can be achieved in part by radical changes in the energy and building codes in these cities, new initiatives and technologies in energy efficiency are being introduced that will help hasten energy consumption and optimize use of Texas electricity in homes. With these innovations, Texas homes can be built more energy-efficient, sustainable, and more affordable. Such technologies focus not only in making the home more efficient in its use of electricity and water, but also on the use of alternative but durable building materials and systems.

New Technologies and Trends for Energy Efficiency

To achieve zero-net energy for the Texashome, a variety of energy efficiency solutions and technologies are now made available for consumers to harness. To produce Texas electricity that will replenish the energy used in a home, renewable energy sources such as solar arrays can be installed to achieve fully zero-net homes. Aside from the arrays, homes can also be installed with a PV Solar Shutter. This device is an interior plantation shutter with louvers that are built and installed with solar cells which will then be used to harness the potential energy from the sun.

Zero-net energy homes consume less Texas electricity and this can be achieved by addressing the major sources of energy losses in a home, particularly lighting and heating/cooling. At the forefront is the extensive use of Energy Star qualified LED light bulbs either for main illumination or downlights. LED bulbs consume even less energy than compact fluorescent light bulbs or CFLs and has no mercury content that pose environmental risks. Now, there’s a new lighting system called Electron Stimulated Luminescence bulbs or ESL that are touted to be 70 percent more efficient than incandescent and even more energy efficient, and cheaper, than LED lamps.

Temperature loss during heating or cooling is a major source of energy loss in a home that will add up to the total Texas electricity consumption.  Zero-net energy homes address this with the use of highly efficient low-E or low emissivity glass on double paned windows. The coating in low-E glass reflects or absorbs IR light from the sun, preventing solar heat gain that will increase the work of HVAC systems. Aside from the windows, homes can minimize heat transfer to and from the home using spray-foam insulation.

A zero-net energy home can also be considered a smart home as it can make use of technology that allows real-time monitoring of the home’s Texas electricity usage. The home can then be integrated into the smart grid, enabling homeowners to have full control of their energy consumption particularly for air conditioning, heating, and hot water requirements. Appliances and lighting systems are also equipped with sensors and programmable thermostats that will turn off when no person is detected within the premises.

Manufacturers and home builders are gearing up towards a green Texashome market, with technologies and innovations intended to increase energy efficiency and sustainability in these homes. Texas consumers have the power to choose these technologies and innovations for new home constructions on the road to achieving truly energy efficient and sustainable green homes.

Green Myths And Eco Products

Trying to live green and eco friendly can be really difficult, especially with so many conflicting messages on environmental issues. Many people are left confounded by decrees from some environmental groups suggesting that nearly every aspect of our lives could be environmentally damaging, but many of these claims are either misguided, have not scientific background or are just plain wrong.

Many of these arguments can also be quite damaging to the environmental movement in general as people can be often put off getting involved, buy eco friendly products or attempting to live in a greener way because they believe it requires extreme sacrifices or a lot of hard work.

For instance people often claim that motoring is extremely damaging to the environment and we should all switch to public transport.

Whilst nobody would argue that vehicles don’t damage the environment people still need to get around. Wasteful journeys are certainly not very eco-friendly but a small family car with three people on-board will be certainly better for the environment than a bus with only one or two passengers.

Often public transport can be a better environmental solution but not always and often it is not practical for everybody. And with more and more emphasis by car companies on environmental technology, motoring is getting less damaging all the time. By combining journeys, car sharing and driving economically we can also cut down on the environmental damage we can cause.

Being vegetarian is often cited as being a greener way of life too as the gases produced by intensive farming of animals and the land used to rear them is a reason why non vegetarians could be damaging the planet. But the environmental impact of farming is a far more complex matter than that.

Farming can cause Deforestation

We all have to eat and while growing vegetables produces less greenhouse gas it uses a lot more land as meat is far more efficient a fuel than vegetables. And with more and more rainforest being swallowed up to grow products like soya, vegetarianism can also be claimed to be environmentally damaging

Food should be a matter of choice but when we shop for food we can help the environment by buying organic and local produce. Even clothing can be organic or from sustainable sources like bamboo.
